It was a bit of an eventful trip, but we did make it to Snowbird, UT, Saturday afternoon. Thursday night as we were getting last minute things packed Megan broke out in this horribly itchy rash. We think it might be an allergic reaction to something (a dog she came in contact with Thursday evening?). Friday morning we got up and took off early in the morning. Megan was still itching, but we headed out. By lunchtime she was covered and it was really bothering her. Carli was deciding she hated being in her carseat and wanted to scream and yell and cry about it. We made it to Denver about 7 pm and got some anti-itch cream for Megan and got some dinner, went to bed and started over in the morning. We creamed Megan's rash up and gave her some Benadryl and headed off. The rash finally subsided and Carli took 2 really good naps so Saturday's drive was actually kind of nice, especially going through the mountains. There was so much to enjoy and look at. The rest of Ben's fam made it into town later in the evening and the craziness began. :) It's been really fun!
Megan's 5th birthday was yesterday and we celebrated with pancakes and sausage for birthday breakfast, lunch at McD's (for the kids and the adults walked across the street to Bajio grill), then it was on to the aquarium in Sandy, and back to Snowbird for pizza and birthday cake. The kids even got to play pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. They had a blast. Finally the day was over and we settled in for another long night. Kate has been coughing and waking the other girls up. Megan wakes up and just cries and cries, seemingly for no reason and it takes at least an hour to get her to settle back down to sleep. In the meantime Carli wakes up from all the noise and cries herself. So, we have not had much sleep since we got here. :( It's been rough. Ben was able to get out today with his brothers and dad for a golf outing and lunch for his Dad's birthday. Us girls get Thursday to ourselves with a free yoga class up at the spa here and then off to lunch and an afternoon of shopping and girl time. I can't wait. :) This evening we are taking family pictures up here near the lodge. They should be beautiful! Hopefully the kids will cooperate.
Well, better be off for now. I'll try to update with pics asap because we have some really great ones!
